She winked and made India fell for her. Yes, we are talking about the wink girl Priya Prakash Varrier. The actress is all set to make an entry to Bollywood with her film Sridevi Bungalow. The film is directed by Prasanth Mambully.
The trailer of the film has already released and now mired in the controversy. It is because of its insensitive portrayal of late actress Sridevi’s life. According to the latest reports, Priya is a playing a lonely actress in the film. The trailer showcases the death of the actress in a bathtub that appears to be quite similar to Sridevi’s death. The legendary actress Sridevi died last year in February due to accidental drowning. Watch the trailer here:
Now, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the team. It is confirmed by the director Prasanth Mambully. He told a leading website that,
“We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. I want to My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case).”
On the other hand, Twitter also slams Priya’s film and calls it a sleazefest.
Twitter users are slamming it on the micro-blogging site, objecting to the nature and portrayal of the film.
