Samantha Ruth Prabhu reveals how family asked not to perform item song after separation

On October 2, 2021, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya confirmed their split. She gained notoriety in a month for her role in the obscene item song “Oo Antava” for Allu Arjuns’ Pushpa: The Rise. Without a doubt, her choice provided the industry with a top-charting item song. Instead, her loved ones cautioned her against performing the item song because she was’middle of separating’ from Naga Chaitanya.

When “Oo Antava” was released in December 2021, the general consensus was that Samatha had been exasperated by Naga Chaitanya and had signed the item number. The song, meanwhile, became one of Pushpa: The Rise’s highlights. Despite receiving advice to abstain from the choice, the actress trusted her gut.

Samanatha disclosed that she was not in the mood to stay at home after being split up because she had done nothing wrong during the promotion of Shaakuntalam. She continued by saying that at first, after announcing their split, everyone from family and friends advised her to stay at home and not perform an item song.

The actor mentioned that she is not going to hide as she has not committed any crime. As quoted by Miss Malini, Samantha said, “I gave my marriage 100%, but it did not work out. I was not going to beat myself up or feel guilty for something I didn’t do.”

On the professional front, Samantha’s next project is the Gunasekhar-directed film Shakuntalam, which will be released in theatres on April 14, 2023. The actress will also appear in Citadel, an American spy thriller starring Varun Dhawan, in its Indian adaptation.
