Shakib Al Hasan is likely to replace Mominul in the position of captaincy which Shakib has done well enough for his international team.

Being amongst the experienced players, Shakib is likely the choice of BCB President Nazmul Hasan.

Nazmul Hasan in an interview said that Shakib can opt as captain of Bangladesh provided he promises to play the longer format as passionately as he plays white ball and domestic cricket.

Shakib’s absence in Test format or rather very minimal play in the whites has done no good for Bangladesh and when it comes to leading, the captain should be available for almost every match.

The captaincy position of Shakib solely depends on his commitment to the Test format availability.

“He cannot make last-minute decisions about his availability when he is the captain. We have to discuss it with him first. We cannot make someone a captain on a whim and so have to take a well-thought-out decision,” said BCB President Nazmul Hasan( in an interview with Cricbuzz).
