    11 Years Ago Virat Kohli Beat Kane Williamson in The Under-19 World Cup, History to Repeat?

    On 9th July, the first semi-final match between India and New Zealand was played but due to the rain, the match got called off and now will restart today from where it was left. To let you know, earlier too, being an Indian captain Virat Kohli beat New Zealand captain Kane Williamson in the semi-final match of the world cup. How the world cup? Well, it was World Cup Under-19 2008.

    In this semi-final match of the Under-19 World Cup India beat New Zealand by 3 wickets. And the coincidence is that time also, the rain interrupted the match and India won through Duckworth/Lewis rule. In this match, New Zealand scored 205 runs for 8 wickets.

    Team India had scored 191 runs for 7 wickets in 41.3 overs till the play was stopped due to rain. Captain Kohli took two wickets and scored 43 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket.

    Williamson scored 37 runs, Tim Southee took four wickets and Trent Bolt took one wicket in that match. Now, these five players are going to face each other again in the World Cup semifinal after 11 years. 16 years later, both the teams are clashing in the World Cup. Last time the match between the two in the world cup was held in 2003.
