Sony Music’s release of the lyric video for the forthcoming film Leo is yet another smash from composer Anirudh Ravichander. Vijay plays the hero in the movie, which debuts on October 19.
The song, titled Badass, introduces Leo Das, the main character. Additionally, it helps audiences become comfortable with the film’s violent and graphic themes. A scene displays cacao pods scattered across a table, a variety of lethal weapons, Vijay with bloodied hands, and even a brief sight of the villain, played by Sanjay Dutt.
Leo’s audio debut ceremony was recently postponed because of “overflowing passes requests and safety constraints”.
“Considering overflowing passes requests & safety constraints, we have decided not to conduct the Leo Audio Launch. In respect of the fans’ wishes, we will keep you engaged with frequent updates,” the studio shared in a post.
Additionally, the banner said that the cancellation of the event was not “due to political pressure or any other reasons.” It happened a few weeks after Marakkuma Nenjam event promoters faced criticism for inadequate setup, crammed seating, and unsatisfactory experiences from attendance.
Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj reunite for the Tamil film Leo, which will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The two previously worked together on the smash Master in 2021.
Leo’s ensemble also includes actor Trisha Krishnan, Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon. Anirudh Ravichander, who wrote the music for popular Vijay films like Kaththi, Master, and Beast, is composing the score for the film being made by SS Lalit Kumar.
