Apple’s premium iPhones have been put to the test in a new drop test that compares the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro for durability. According to YouTuber Sam Kohl’s drop test video, the iPhone 14 Pro was able to endure the drop test better than the most recent iPhone 15 Pro.
A 13-minute YouTube video by AppleTrack’s Sam Kohl includes drop testing in many rounds to carefully assess how well the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro withstand fall from various heights.
The video shows how the newest device’s rounded titanium edges cannot withstand breaking. In comparison to the iPhone 14 Pro, the rear and edge of the iPhone 15 are said to be more vulnerable to damage.
The sides and rear panel of the iPhone 15 Pro were damaged to varying degrees by successive drops. With no obvious screen or back glass breaks after being dropped at this level onto concrete, the iPhone 14 Pro fared admirably.
In the fourteenth drop, the Phone 15 Pro’s whole back camera module broke and separated from the body of the handset. On the other hand, the entirely broken front and back of the iPhone 14 Pro didn’t affect its functionality. The YouTuber observes that the iPhone 14 Pro fared better than the iPhone 15 Pro in terms of durability.
A drop test, however, cannot determine whether or not an item is durable.
The entry-level 128GB storage variant of the iPhone 15 Pro costs Rs. 1,39,900 in India. It is presently available for purchase throughout the nation through official retail locations, e-commerce websites, Apple BKC, Saket, and the company’s online shop.
