Make these 3 changes on your old iPhone device to extend its life up to three years

While Apple is up with an iPhone every year, users can update their old device by making alterations in the software of the given model. Regular users can use the model for at least three years with all new features available in the latest model.

Update the software

Apple adds on new features every now and then and henceforth it is important to update the software whenever notified. The iOS updates will enable smooth functioning of the device. The software also offers various security features to prevent bugs and allows other security fixes to keep the device running.

Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install the iOS version of the phone. While doing this it must be ascertained that the phone is charged upto 60 per cent and have a stable data network.

Battery

Battery of the device can be changed as it may get worn out with the passage of time. It is recommended to seek the company’s service centre for the replacement to ensure the installation of an original component.

Go to Settings > Battery > Battery health and charging and evaluate the maximum capacity of the battery. It is recommended to change the battery if the capacity is below 80 per cent.

Apple takes $69 or Rs 5,699 for the battery replacement of the latest iPhone13 and other models. For the fresh models it charges $99 or Rs 8,177 for the battery replacement of iPhone 14 and the other fresh models.

Reset the device at least once in a year

If your device is exhausted due to low storage or if the screen freezes much often then resetting the device can help. Factory resetting will clear the cache and temp files and make some space in the internal storage and the device resources, making the function more clear and fast.

Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase all content and settings and the device is being reset successfully.
