Today the festival of Karwa Chauth is being celebrated with pomp across the country. This festival also has a special significance in Bollywood. All actresses do this fast for the safety of their husband. Bollywood veteran actress Sridevi also used to fast for her husband Boney Kapoor. Sridevi once broke Karwa Chauth’s fast in an airplane and for this she made a demand from the pilot.
Sridevi was such a classy actress that it was not possible for the pilot to reject her demand. Sridevi’s demand was fulfilled and she opened the fast. This story is really interesting. Actually, Sridevi and Boney were going from Mexico to Los Angeles and their flight was in the night. It was the day of Karwa Chauth. She was about to open the fast after drinking water but it is considered necessary to have moon sight on Karwa Chauth.
In such a situation, Sridevi demanded the pilot of the aircraft to turn the plane in such a direction from where the moon can be seen easily. The pilot accepted this request of Sridevi and changed the direction of the plane and she saw the moon. Sridevi and Boney Kapoor were in New York to shoot ‘English Vinglish’. Even then, Sridevi kept a fast of Karwachauth in abroad.
The great actress Sridevi is no longer in this world. On 24 February 2018, Sridevi died in a Dubai hotel in a bathtub. Millions of fans were mourned by the news of her sudden demise. No one thought that Sridevi was going to Dubai and from there only her dead body would come to India. Her body came to India four days later.
