Actress Olwen Fouere ( Mandy , Sea Fever ) will play the role of Sally Hardesty in the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, produced by Fede Alvarez .
The new Chainsaw will be a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s seminal 1974 horror film and will ignore all parts in between. The character Sally Hardesty was the ‘final girl’ in the very first film; the only one who managed to survive after being terrorized by Leatherface. She ended up in that movie completely smeared and laughing hysterically in the back of a pick-up truck.
A worthy replacement
Marilyn Burns played Sally Hardesty in the original, but she passed away in 2014, so the role had to be re-cast.
Alvarez recently emphasized that this new Texas Chainsaw ‘s approach is becoming similar to that of the Evil Dead remake. As many practical effects as possible for a realistic feeling and the use of old film lenses.
The protagonists of the film by director David Blue Garcia are Elsie Fisher , Sarah Yarkin , Jacob Latimore and Moe Dunford .
