Social Media Lashes Out at Priests Sitting In Water-Filled Vessels And Checking Phones While Praying To Rain Gods

Summers are here and because of the water scarcity and deadly heatwave, every year at this time priests across the country will do everything possible to please the rain gods. As India is a country which holds half of the superstitious population, prayers to invoke the gods is considered the best alternative.

Relating to it, priests in Someshwara temple in Halasuru, Bengaluru conducted a special puja and pictures of the bizarre ritual which is now getting trolled on social media. It is not because of the Puja but in the photos shared on the internet the priests were seen sitting in two giant vessels filled with water, while another was seen performing the Hawan.

And while doing the religious ritual, the priests were caught reading Mantras from their phones but people just couldn’t help but assume they were internet addicts. They got slammed by some of the people for wasting water and not doing their Puja sensitively.

Here are some of the reactions:

Thankful to God for having the best ever family, best ever partner and best ever friends, I wish to work each day to make them proud.
