Dharmendra has turned 83 (born 1935) now and Hema malini is 70 (born 1948). He married ‘dream girl’ in the year 1979. But how it all started? Before marrying Hema Malini, Dharmendra was already married to Prakash Kaur and had four children – two sons (Sunny and Bobby) and two daughters (Ajita and Vijita). Dharmendra was first got married when was only 19 years old in the year 1954.
He started his film career with Arjun Hingorani’s Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere in 1960. He was one of the most handsome heroes in that era after whom a number of female fans were crazy. In the 70s, he paired up with Hema Malini in many films and their pair became one of the hit ‘Bollywood Jodis’.
While doing the film ‘Sholay’ in 1975, they came closer and fell in love. Dharmendra’s first wife was not happy with it and she refused to give him the divorce. Dharmendra was helpless he really loved Hema Malini and couldn’t live without her. He got married first at a very tender age of 19 in an arranged marriage, he was immature and never knew that in the future he will fell in love with someone like crazy.
He was helpless, in such case, he found only one way to convert into Islam to keep his love and marriage at one place. He converted into Islam to remarry, so as Hema Ji to marry Dharmendra who was already a father of four children.
Dharmendra’s family was against this marriage. His sons Bobby and Sunny were so unhappy that Bobby even attacked Hema Malini with a knife but he was a kid back then!
