The United States has the most powerful military in the world, with China and Russia coming in second and third, respectively, according to Global Firepower, a website that tracks information on global defense. The rankings evaluate 145 nations and determine which military is the greatest based on a number of criteria. These include the quantity of soldiers and military hardware that each nation possesses, the nation’s financial standing and spending plans, its location, and its accessible resources.
These variables are used to provide a Power Index score. According to the index, a lower score indicates more military capabilities.
Global Firepower averred, “Our unique, in-house formula allows for smaller, more technologically advanced nations to compete with larger, lesser-developed powers, and special modifiers, in the form of bonuses and penalties, are applied to further refine the list, which is compiled annually.”
